We sell one body camera, and we know it properly.
MiniRecorder® is a small independent shop on the East Lothian coast, just outside Edinburgh.
The body camera market has a problem. Dozens of near-identical devices, listed under keyword-stuffed titles, with specifications copied and pasted between sellers and nobody willing to answer a question about any of them. Buying one is a gamble.
So we did the opposite. We picked a single unit, learned it properly and stocked it. We can tell you how long the battery actually lasts, how to get the footage onto a laptop, and what the night vision will and will not pick up in an unlit car park. That is a hard promise to make across a catalogue of fifty products, so we do not try.
Why we only sell one thing
- We have used it — every figure on the product page comes from the camera on our own desk, not from a supplier listing we copied.
- Held in the UK — stock sits here, not in a warehouse three weeks away. Order before 3:00 pm GMT and it leaves the same working day.
- A person answers — email us and one of us reads it and replies, usually inside one working day. No ticket queue, no script.
Recording is a responsibility, not just a feature
Our customers are cyclists and motorcyclists who have had one close pass too many, couriers and rideshare drivers, tradespeople who need the state of a job proving, and lone workers on doorsteps and site visits. What they have in common is a need to show what happened rather than argue about it afterwards.
We ask them to film lawfully and considerately. In the UK, filming in a public place, or recording an incident you are part of, is generally lawful for your own personal use. Filming people covertly, recording on private property, wearing a camera at work without your employer's knowledge, or passing footage on to someone else all carry obligations under UK GDPR and can carry consequences. We would rather say that plainly on our own website than let someone find out afterwards.
